The EAA applies to businesses selling products and services such as e-commerce, banking, e-books, and transport ticketing to consumers in the EU, regardless of where the company is based. Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt.
When is the EAA deadline?
The EAA became applicable on June 28, 2025 across EU Member States. Existing services may have transition periods, but new products and services must comply from that date.
